About Gamma Chi
On August 17, 1968 the “Gorgeous” Gamma Chi Chapter was charted by ten lovely ladies on the campus of Memphis State University which is now University of Memphis. Gamma Chi prides itself on being educated, motivated and dedicated to building up their sisterhood and community.

General Membership Requirements
Candidates for membership must have a minimum of a 2.50 cumulative grade point average and have completed twelve semester hours at The University of Memphis. Please note that membership is by invitation only.
The University of Memphis also requires all prospective members to attend an Intake Seminar which is held twice per semester. This seminar is designed to educate new members about joining NPHC organizations, anti-hazing policies on all levels (local, state, and nationals), answer questions about the new intake membership process, application and interview tips, plus much, much more.
